Maulen Ashimbayev met with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Shentop in the Senate. During the meetings, the Chairman of the Senate stressed that the relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey are based on strategic partnership, as well as on the common history, cultures and languages.
Maulen Ashimbayev stressed that the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Turkey Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pay special attention to the development of relations between the two countries. The First President – Yelbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev continues to pay great attention to the further strengthening of fraternal ties between our states.
The interlocutors agreed that it is important to continue strengthening the existing high level of cooperation also within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy in bilateral and multilateral formats.
"In the coming period, it is important for us to strengthen the relations between the Parliaments of the two countries. We could hold regular meetings of cooperation groups of relevant committees, organize round tables, share legislative experience. At such platforms, it is possible to discuss and form common proposals for the development of bilateral relations and the international agenda, " Maulen Ashimbayev said.
During the conversation, the parties also discussed the prospects for developing partnership in the fields of logistics, digital technologies, space, tourism, culture, education and trade and economic relations.
In conclusion, the Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev thanked his colleague for his great contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey and expressed confidence that this visit will give a special impetus to inter-parliamentary cooperation.
