01.11.2021 449

A meeting of the Bureau took place under the chairmanship of Speaker of the House Maulen Ashimbayev, at which deputies approved the issues suggested for consideration at the session of the Senate, scheduled for November 4, 2021.

The agenda of the regular meeting of the Senate includes the bill “On Making Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Combating the Legalization (Laundering) of the Proceeds of Crime and the Financing of Terrorism”.

The bill has the aim to improve legislation in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorism, as well as the national security system. The document provides for control over transactions carried out by public officials. This means those citizens who hold senior public office and perform managerial functions in a public organization or the quasi-public sector.

The Bureau members also touched upon the preparations for the coming Parliamentary hearings on the topic “Current problems and perspectives for the development of agriculture”, which will take place on December 3 this year.

“The upcoming Parliamentary hearings will focus on urgent issues of agricultural development, brought up in the Address of the Head of State. The President has lately approved the list of National Projects, and one of them is aimed at the development of the agro-industrial complex. The issue of effective implementation of this National Project will be reviewed during the hearings. This event should be held at a high organizational and informative level,” Maulen Ashimbayev underscored.
