Under the chairmanship of the Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev the Plenary Session of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held.
Opening the session Maulen Ashimbayev summed up the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, noting the exceptional content of the forum and the high level of its participants.
"Religious leaders expressed important thoughts and messages in support of peace and dialogue from the rostrum of the Congress. The role and potential of religions in overcoming geopolitical challenges, ending conflicts and strengthening peace were identified. I hope that all of us will continue to work effectively for the good of our country", noted Maulen Ashimbayev, and expressed his gratitude to the senators for their active participation in the work of the Congress.
However, during the meeting the deputies considered and adopted two laws. It was noted that the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Cinematography, Culture and Holidays", is aimed at improving the legal, economic, social and organizational foundations of state policy in the sphere of culture and cinematography.
"The provisions of the law constitute the legal basis for the further development of the cinematography industry. The new norms will allow to hold cultural events at a high level, widely glorify the history and culture of our people. Also, under the law, October 25th has been approved as a national holiday - the Republic Day. This is a historic and important decision. Therefore, we supported this proposal,"concluded Maulen Ashimbayev.
In addition, deputies reviewed and adopted the second reading of the law "On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Issues of Livestock Breeding and Turnover of Biofuels". The instrument is aimed at further modernization and digitalization of agro-industrial complex, improving the efficiency and competitiveness in the field of livestock breeding, the expansion of bioethanol, etc.
Also, during the meeting senators voiced their deputy requests.
Bekbolat Orynbekovraised the problems of housing for socially vulnerable segments of the population and voiced a number of specific proposals to improve the situation.
Serikbay Trumovwas outraged by the repeated postponement of the construction of the Kazakh Gas Processing Plant in Zhanaozen, which has a high social and economic significance for the country.
Bakytzhan Bayakhmetovvoiced the problems of farmers in the region, who cannot receive concessional agricultural subsidies and loans due to the lack of state registration of land titles.
Akmaral Alnazarovainformed of the shortage of vitally important medicines in the country and voiced recommendations for establishing production of medicines by domestic producers, including through the mechanism of subsidies.
Ali Bektayevdrew attention to the problems of irrigated agriculture, as well as the critical state of canals and water systems in Turkestan Region.
Andrey Lukinspoke about the rise in prices of socially important goods and proposed a number of measures to improve food security in the country.
