The Senate Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship, chaired by Serik Dzhaksybekov, held a meeting with representatives of Air Astana JSC and the airline’s President Peter Foster.
The event was attended by Senators Dauren Adilbekov, Alimzhan Kurtayev, Edil Mamytbekov, Eric Sultanov, Sergei Plotnikov and Nariman Turegaliyev.
Senator S. Dzhaksybekov noted that in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan “Constructive Public Dialogue - the Basis of Kazakhstan’s Stability and Prosperity”, the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev raised the problem of high prices for air tickets for the most popular routes. According to the Senator, this issue remains relevant and needs to be addressed.
The meeting participants discussed the issues of pricing policy, transportation safety, the ratio of the quality of services and their prices.
The senators expressed their wishes regarding the reduction of prices for air tickets, as well as raising the public awareness of tariff formation, opening low-cost air routes in all directions of Kazakhstan.
