The first meeting of the II session of the VIII convocation of the Chamber was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbaev. The senators discussed the key messages voiced by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the opening of the session. The Speaker of the Senate stressed that the most important task of the Chamber is the legislative support of the reforms initiated by the President of the country.
During the meeting, Maulen Ashimbaev emphasized the relevance of the Address in modern conditions and the importance of consolidating citizens in the implementation of the reforms proposed by the Head of State.
“The head of state outlined clear and concrete measures to further diversify the economy. Much attention is paid to supporting small and medium-sized businesses, developing the country's industrial potential and agriculture. All the proposed measures will contribute to the balanced and high-quality development of our country in the face of a difficult geopolitical situation in the world. For the effective implementation of the identified initiatives, it is necessary to consolidate state and public institutions. In this regard, the Senate of the Parliament is ready for active work on the legislative support of the Message and the proposed reforms. We will conduct this work together with colleagues from the Majilis, the Government, experts and interested citizens. I am sure that by joint efforts we will implement all the initiatives of the President of the country aimed at further improving the standard of living of our citizens and the progressive development of Kazakhstan,” Maulen Ashimbayev said, addressing the participants of the meeting.
Summing up the results of the working trips of senators to the regions, the Speaker of the Senate noted the importance of systemic interaction between deputies at all levels and the public.
Maulen Ashimbaev stressed that during the trips to the regions of the country this summer, the senators held more than 580 meetings with citizens, public representatives and deputies of maslikhats. The need to consider the opinions of all interested parties, various social groups, the expert community, public institutions and scientists in the legislative work carried out by senators was noted.
In addition, during the meeting, the senators considered the issue of creating a Commission to control the use of the electronic system and the work of its personnel.
