The Speaker of the Senate met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States

The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Baghdad Amreyev.

During the conversation, Maulen Ashimbayev noted the importance of promoting within the Organization the initiatives put forward by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at past events of the Organization.

"The President of Kazakhstan has suggested a number of important initiatives and proposals within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. All of them are aimed at further strengthening all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between our brotherly countries. In the coming period, the Senate of the Parliament intends to actively work on the practical implementation of these initiatives together with parliamentary colleagues from other Turkic states," said Maulen Ashimbayev.

In turn, Baghdad Amreyev noted that the Organization is actively working on implementation of the proposals suggested by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, which are aimed at further strengthening economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation among the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States.

The Senate Speaker stressed that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of multilateral cooperation with Turkic countries through the parliaments. Maulen Ashimbayev especially noted the participation of observers from TurkPA and the Organization of Turkic States in the June 5 National Referendum and their statement on the successful holding of our Republic's Referendum
