13.02.2024 52

Deputies of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security visited the National Defense University of the country, where they discussed issues of military-patriotic education of young people.

In his speech, Chairman of the Committee Andrey Lukin noted that the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to the issues of improving military education and the formation of Kazakhstani patriotism among military personnel.

"The issue of patriotic education presupposes the comprehensive implementation of measures in this area by all state bodies. However, the lack of interdepartmental interaction and a systematic approach, the decrease in the importance of educational work in the educational process and the lack of mechanisms for encouraging and taking into account positive results do not give proper results and require further improvement of the system of military-patriotic education," Senator Lukin said.

In turn, the Head of the university, Major General Askar Mustabekov, told the parliamentarians about the work of the University, as well as about the implementation of the program of military-patriotic education of youth, designed until 2025, which lays the foundations for interaction between government agencies and civil society in solving a wide range of problems of formation of motivation and readiness of pre-conscription youth for military service.

During the meeting, the University staff raised issues related to improving legislation in this area. The senators, in turn, said that in recent years a number of legislative acts have been adopted to improve the social protection of military personnel and increase motivation to perform military duty among young people, and also reported that today the Parliament is actively working on a draft law on military-patriotic education.
