The Senate is ready to contribute to the development of the country's military-industrial complex – Senator Lukin

Deputies of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security held a round table on the topic "Strengthening the domestic military-industrial complex and prospects for its development as part of the implementation of the President's Address to the People of Kazakhstan "The Economic Course of a Just Kazakhstan".

In his welcoming speech, Chairman of the Committee Andrey Lukin noted that Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his Message to the people of Kazakhstan, paid special attention to the issues of strengthening the military-industrial complex, which plays a key role in ensuring national security in developed countries. In addition, in his Message, the President outlined a number of priority tasks to strengthen the military-industrial complex.

"Today's round table is aimed at obtaining relevant and objective information about the state of affairs in the industry, discussing topical problematic issues in this area, as well as developing constructive legislative proposals. The deputies of the Senate are ready to work with the Government to improve the situation in the industry and fulfill the instructions of the Head of State," the senator said.

During the round table, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Azamat Beispekov made a report on the state and development of the domestic military-industrial complex. Deputy Defense Minister Bakytbek Sydykov, in turn, told the senators about the equipment of the army with weapons and military equipment, close cooperation with Kazakhstani manufacturers and readiness to solve existing supply problems within the framework of the state defense order.

In addition, the Deputy General Director of JSC Semey Engineering, representatives of other domestic defense industry organizations, as well as the expert community made presentations.

The participants of the round table made proposals for further improvement of the legal regulation of the industry and the development of the military-industrial complex.
