The famous statesman and public figure Baigeldi Omirbek has died

Prominent statesman and politician Baigeldi Omirbek died in Astana today.

Baigeldi Omirbek is the first Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1996-1999).

Baigeldi Omirbek was born in 1939 in the village of Kyzyl-Oktyabr, Dzhambul region (Kazakh SSR). He began his career as a worker at the Kzyl-Oktyabr collective farm in the Dzhambul district of the Dzhambul region. In the 1990s, he was Chairman of the Dzhambul regional Executive Committee, head of the Zhambyl regional administration, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He was a deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the first, second, third and fourth convocations. He has worked in the Senate of the Parliament for more than 16 years.
