Deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ali Bektayev, Ainur Argynbekova, Yernur Aitkenov, Zhanbolat Zhorgenbayev, Alisher Satvaldiev and Nauryzbay Baikadamov met with the delegation of the Parliament of Austria.

In his welcoming speech, Ali Bektayev noted that Austria is an important partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union and Central Europe. He emphasized the progressive development of bilateral relations based on political dialogue, active trade and economic cooperation and strong cultural and humanitarian ties.

«We consider maintaining regular inter-parliamentary dialogue between Kazakhstan and Austria to be an important mechanism for strengthening bilateral cooperation. Friendship groups operating in our parliaments play a major role in deepening our cooperation. We are convinced that interaction through this format opens up additional opportunities for regular and constructive dialogue at the legislative level», - said Ali Bektayev.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including the development of trade and economic ties, cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, green energy and agriculture. Particular attention was paid to the climate agenda, water conservation, as well as cooperation in international organizations.

Austrian parliamentarians, in turn, also expressed interest in further strengthening political and economic partnership, noting that Kazakhstan is a key partner of Austria in the region. The parties confirmed their readiness to further expand inter-parliamentary contacts.
