The Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament, Maulen Ashimbayev, met with the Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia, Dashzegviin Amarbayasgalan. The interlocutors discussed issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and expanding the partnership between the two countries.

Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that Mongolia is a reliable and important partner for Kazakhstan in the region, with which our country shares common centuries-old traditions and cultural-historical roots. Kazakhstani-Mongolian cooperation today, as the Chairman of the Senate noted, continues to develop in a spirit of mutual respect and trust thanks to the efforts of the Heads of the two states.

In this regard, special attention was paid to the tasks of strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue. In particular, the discussion focused on the cooperation of relevant committees and within the framework of the «Mongolia-Kazakhstan» parliamentary friendship group.

«The respectful and trusting relationship between the Heads of the two states contributes to the strengthening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia. In 2024, during the visit of the country's President, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, to Mongolia, important documents were signed, including the Joint Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership, as well as intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements. We are also interested in further deepening cooperation with the State Great Khural of Mongolia to facilitate the implementation of the agreements of the Heads of State, strengthen inter-parliamentary contacts, and exchange experience in legislative activity», – said the Speaker of the Senate and congratulated the delegation on the upcoming 35th anniversary of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.

During the meeting, Maulen Ashimbayev familiarized his interlocutor with the activities of the Senate, which are focused on the legislative support of political and economic reforms carried out on the initiative of the Head of State.

In addition, the Speaker of the Senate noted the importance of developing spiritual diplomacy and expressed gratitude to the spiritual leaders of Mongolia for their active support and significant contribution to achieving the goals of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

In turn, Dashzegviin Amarbayasgalan highly praised the socio-political transformations taking place in Kazakhstan and confirmed his interest in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations. He also expressed gratitude for the steps taken by Kazakhstan to promote spiritual diplomacy to overcome global challenges.

Furthermore, during the conversation, the parties outlined the prospects for trade-economic and investment cooperation. They discussed tasks for achieving the sustainable development goals, implementing joint projects in the spheres of agriculture, the mining and metallurgical complex, modern technologies, space exploration, and other sectors. There was also an exchange of views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
