The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science, Nurtore Zhusip, took part in a meeting of the Republican Onomastic Commission under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the meeting, the senator emphasized that in the context of globalization and digitalization, it is important for Kazakhstan not only to preserve its unique cultural heritage but also to make onomastic work more transparent and modern. In this process, according to him, a special role is played by artificial intelligence, which combines the achievements of linguistics, history, and digital technologies.
«The Head of State noted in his Address: artificial intelligence should be introduced into all spheres – from the economy to the humanities. This also applies to onomastics, which should be not only a guardian of traditions but also a tool for shaping the future. The integration of AI is not only a scientific necessity but also a state priority for the long-term development of the country», - said Nurtore Zhusip.
During the discussion with experts, the parliamentarian stressed that the use of artificial intelligence opens up new prospects for science, culture, and public administration. Digital technologies allow for the systematization of the accumulated onomastic material and bring the process of assigning and expert evaluation of names to a fundamentally new level.
«The President called artificial intelligence a key factor of progress. Therefore, onomastics should also be part of this strategic agenda. The introduction of AI will allow for the connection of tradition and innovation, the preservation of historical memory, and at the same time, the creation of tools for future development. Our task is to make onomastics a modern and technological industry that will strengthen national identity and meet the challenges of the 21st century», - said the senator.
Following the meeting, the key directions for the further improvement of the commission's activities were discussed.
