An off-site meeting of the Senate Committee on finance and budget was held today in the Akmola region. The main topic of the meetings was the discussion of issues related to the implementation of the budget process under the new Budget Code.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee, Sultanbek Makezhanov, noted that the updated Budget Code is aimed at increasing the efficiency of public finance management, optimizing the budget process, and ensuring the transparency of inter-budgetary relations.
«We are discussing here specific mechanisms that will allow us to equalize the budgetary provision of the regions, ensure equal fiscal opportunities, and increase the efficiency of spending. The Akmola region has become a platform where we are considering in detail new approaches to the formation and execution of budgets», - emphasized Sultanbek Makezhanov.
During the meeting, reports were made by the First Vice-Minister of National Economy Azamat Amrin, the deputy akim of the region Yernar Zharkeshov, and the akim of the Burabay district Arai Sadykov. They elaborated on the practical aspects of the implementation of the new legislation and its impact on the development of the regions.
As part of the trip, the senators also became acquainted with the work of the oil extraction plant in Makinsk and the progress of construction of infrastructure facilities in the village of Katarkol. In addition, an inspection of the water supply systems and other social projects being implemented in Shchuchinsk and rural districts was carried out.
Concluding the work, the Chairman of the Committee noted that practical discussions in the regions allow for a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of the implemented norms of the new Budget Code and for the timely identification of problematic issues.
«Our common task is to ensure that the changes in the budget system really work for the people, create conditions for the development of infrastructure, and solve life support issues», - concluded Sultanbek Makezhanov.
