The deputy of the Senate of the Parliament, Sovetbek Medebayev, visited the Ulytau region, where he met with deputies of the regional and city maslikhats, as well as with members of the Public Council.

During the meetings, the most pressing issues of concern to the residents of the region were discussed. Special attention was paid to the environmental situation and the impact of industrial enterprises on the environment, the payment of emission payments, the provision of high-quality drinking water to the population, as well as gas pricing, the difference in the cost of which between neighboring regions is of concern to local residents.

The senator noted that in an interview with the newspaper Turkistan, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the need for a systematic approach to environmental safety, fair pricing, and the development of public utilities and road infrastructure. According to him, these areas directly determine the sustainability of regional development and the quality of life of citizens.

The agenda of the meetings also included the repair of the Zhezkazgan – Arkalyk and Zhezkazgan  Karaganda highways, which are of strategic importance for the socio-economic development of the region, as well as initiatives to create a center for spiritual development aimed at strengthening the cultural and spiritual potential of the region.

In addition, proposals for the opening of a veterinary laboratory and the launch of a workshop for processing hides were considered. The implementation of these projects will create new jobs, support agriculture and give an additional impetus to the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the region.
