Members of the Senate Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to discuss the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Physical Culture and Sports, and the Elimination of Excessive Legislative Regulation." The discussion focused on the key amendments to the law, which aim to improve the efficiency of industry management, optimize budget expenditures, and prioritize national interests.

Opening the meeting, Senate Committee Chairman Nurtore Zhusip noted that the adopted amendments are systemic in nature and aimed at creating a sustainable model for sports development in the country.

"The adopted amendments are aimed at establishing a clear management chain, increasing funding transparency, and concentrating resources on priority areas. It is important that the law's implementation ensures the development of mass and youth sports, support for national sports, and the creation of a level playing field for athletes in all regions of the country," Nurtore Zhusip emphasized.

Ministry representatives reported on the ban on funding foreign players from the budget, the definition of a list of priority sports, the introduction of a vertical management structure in sports, and the systematization of the activities of accredited sports federations.

Following the meeting, participants discussed the practical application of new regulations, the coordination of central and local executive bodies, and further steps to improve the regulatory framework in physical education and sports.
