An international cultural and scientific symposium entitled "Craftsmen in the Footsteps of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi" opened in Turkestan at the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. Representatives of the scientific and expert community, government agencies, international organizations, and delegations from neighboring countries participated in the event.
A welcoming address from Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was read to the forum participants by Darkhan Kydyrali, a member of the Senate and a member of the Plenipotentiary Council of the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi International Kazakh-Turkish University. In his address, the Senate Speaker noted the Head of State's special contribution to perpetuating the name of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and popularizing his spiritual legacy. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of jointly studying the legacy of shared historical figures, which should contribute to advancing cooperation between countries in the region to a new level.
During the symposium, participants discussed the importance of the Ahilik tradition as an important part of the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world, as well as issues of preserving spiritual values, strengthening humanitarian ties, and developing international cooperation. As noted at the opening, the forum aims to give new impetus to the promotion of shared historical and cultural landmarks and the expansion of interaction between fraternal countries.
The three-day symposium, which runs from April 1 to 3, includes academic papers and expert discussions devoted to the continuity of the Ahilik tradition and the teachings of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, as well as strengthening the shared cultural identity of the Turkic world.
