Shakarym Buktugutov, a member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in a meeting at the Akimat of the East Kazakhstan Region dedicated to the development of river transport and the implementation of joint international projects.
During the meeting with the management of the shipyard, the construction of three passenger hydrofoils and five cargo barges for cargo transportation was discussed.
Meeting participants discussed the vessel construction timelines, project implementation stages, and prospects for the further development of the region's transport infrastructure. It was noted that the introduction of the new vessels will improve the efficiency of river transportation, expand logistics capabilities, and create additional conditions for the development of the region's economy.
The meeting also discussed prospects for further cooperation with foreign shipbuilding companies and the implementation of new joint projects in the transport sector. It was separately noted that the agreements reached were made possible, in part, by the work of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which makes a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral ties and promoting joint initiatives.
