Senate proposed the concept of “National Values of the Great Steppe”

18.11.2020 1202

Under the chairmanship of the Head of the Senate Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science, Murat Baktiyaruly, a round table on the topic “National values - the basis of spiritual revival” was held.

The event was held in the lead-up to the Parliamentary Hearings.

The round table was also attended by the management of the Ministries of Information and Social Development, Culture and Sports, Education and Science, as well as prominent state and public figures and intellectuals - Mambet Koigeldiev, Asily Osmanova, Rakhman Alshanov, Ualikhan Kalizhanov, Anar Fazylzhanova and others.

“During the period of active development of science and education, engineering and technology, the young generation found itself in a huge flow of information. If we do not revive and promote the national values of our country, then we risk depriving young people of their national identity. I hope that today we will hear your constructive proposals on these issues”, said Murat Baktiyaruly in his opening remarks.

Senator Bakytzhan Zhumagulov made a keynote address. He acquainted the participants of the round table with the concept of “National values of the Great Steppe”.

The concept is based on five directions, which, in the view of the Senator, are important at this stage of the country’s development to strengthen the spiritual and moral values of Kazakhstanis. They are independence and historical consciousness; motherland; language and morality; national traditions and family education; education and professionalism.

“It is necessary to introduce and consolidate national values in the minds of every citizen of Kazakhstan. This is the purpose of today’s round table. We need an approach that unites the nation, promotes our national values. It would also be advisable to identify specific ways of forming national patriotism among citizens. Only in such a way in an independent country we will be able to deeply introduce national values into everyday life”, Bakytzhan Zhumagulov said.

Participants of the round table also discussed the implementation of special projects included in the “Rukhani Zhagyru” program. Intellectuals expressed their views on strengthening the unity and conventional wisdom of the people, as well as the development of the state language.
