A meeting of the Bureau was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Chamber Maulen Ashimbaev, at which the Deputies discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Senate and distributed the draft laws received from the Mazhilis among the Committees.
The next meeting of the Senate will be held on November 26, 2020. The Deputies will consider the draft laws “On the ratification of the Agreement on Pension Provision of Workers of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States” and “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Supporting the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Electricity”, approved by the Mazhilis of Parliament.
At the same time, during the distribution of the draft laws received from the Mazhilis, a number of draft laws were submitted to the Senate Committee on Agrarian Issues, Environmental Management and Development of Rural Areas. In particular, they are the draft Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, draft laws “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Environmental Issues”, “On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses on Environmental Issues”, as well as “On amendments and additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget” and the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the implementation of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On taxes and other obligatory payments to the budget” on environmental issues”.
The Committee for Social and Cultural Development and Science will prepare conclusions on the draft Laws “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the activities of public councils” and “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on education”.
Committee on Finance and Budget will responsible for the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Budget Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, Judicial System and Law Enforcement Agencies will be engaged in the development of draft laws “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Issues of Setting the Periods of Detention in case of Refoulement of Persons from the Republic of Kazakhstan” and “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kazakhstan on security activities”.
In addition, during the meeting of the Bureau, the Senators discussed the preparation and holding of parliamentary hearings on December 4, 2020 on the topic “Economic development in new realities: improving state policy and legal regulation in the development and support of small and medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan”. Organization of parliamentary hearings is entrusted to the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the Senate of the Parliament. The Senate Committee and Administrative Office have been given appropriate instructions to prepare and conduct hearings.
