These are special zones that have special development potential and are included in the list of objects of the republican level of the tourist map. The innovation is spelled out in the Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Tourism Activities” adopted today by the senators.

“Development of the tourism industry is one of the priority areas for our country. The Law adopted today forms a comprehensive legislative framework in this direction. The range of financial support mechanisms for enterprises will also be expanded. Investment preferences will appear, compensation for costs will be introduced, as well as subsidizing the costs of tour operators for attracting foreign tourists,” Maulen Ashimbayev said.

Also, the senators today considered and adopted the Law “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in the field of migration”. Thanks to this document, favorable conditions will be created for the exchange of information on the regulation of migration processes and citizenship issues, as well as identification of channels of illegal migration. Thus, the parties will be able to exchange statistical, legal, scientific, and methodological information, information about the citizens of the two states located on their territories, as well as experience and practical assistance on issues arising in the process of cooperation.

“This Agreement is of particular importance for the formation of additional legal mechanisms in the fight against illegal migration and regulation of migration processes. The bill will have a positive impact on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in this area,” Maulen Ashimbayev noted.

During the meeting, the senators also considered and adopted the proposal of the conciliation commission to overcome the disagreement between the Mazhilis and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on certain norms of the bill “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Advocacy and Legal Assistance”.

“Taking into account the proposals of the conciliation commission, the norms on the mandatory membership of chambers of legal consultants in the Republican collegium of legal consultants have been excluded from it. Membership in the Republican Collegium and, accordingly, payment of fees will be voluntary,” Maulen Ashimbayev said.

At the meeting, Senator Erik Sultanov voiced his deputy’s inquiry to improve the legal regulation of gas supply. The MP’s proposals are aimed at preventing the repetition of tragic cases of gas cylinder explosions.
