The Senate discussed the bill “On the ratification of the Agreement on the procedure for circulation of products within the Eurasian Economic Union, the requirements for which are not established by the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, and the rules for ensuring the safety of such products”.

The document is intended to regulate the turnover of products on the EAEU market that are not included in the Unified List, which establishes mandatory requirements, as well as products included in the Unified List, but for which the Union’s technical regulations have not been adopted or have not entered into force. Such products currently occupy about 15% of the EAEU market.

During an expanded meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship, Member of the Senate Lyazzat Rysbekova informed that the responsibility for the release of such products and their turnover would be established in accordance with the legislation of the EAEU member states.

“Product safety will be ensured by individuals and legal entities registered as individual entrepreneurs, including manufacturers, sellers, and importers of products that manufacture and sell products at all stages of the life cycle in accordance with the legislation of the EAEU member states,” Senator Lyazzat Rysbekova said.

The Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development, and Entrepreneurship introduced the bill to the Chamber for consideration.
