Senators attended the plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. As part of the session, online debates were held on the topic: “Overcoming the Pandemic Today and Building a Better Tomorrow: The Role of Parliaments”.
In addition, Dana Nurzhigitova took part in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Peace and International Security, which raised the issue of the development of parliamentary strategies in strengthening peace and security against threats and conflicts arising from climate disasters.
The Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights, in which Senator Nurlan Beknazarov participated, discussed the problem of improving national legislation against sexual exploitation of children over the Internet.
Yerik Sultanov was a participant in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development that addressed the actualization of policies on digitalization and the closed-loop economy to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
It is worth noting that the 142nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the longest-running international parliamentary organization, was held.
