Olga Bulavkina: National Development Depends on the Health and Well-Being of the Nation

Senator Olga Bulavkina met the employees of medical facilities in a number of districts of the East Kazakhstan region.

When visiting the Altay district, the deputy of the Senate informed the medical workers about the legislative activities of the Senate directly related to strengthening the protection of medical workers and improving their working conditions. She noted that one of the directions of implementation of the President's Message is to overcome the consequences of the pandemic and strengthen the health of the Kazakhstan nation.

"The pandemic has revealed the current problems in the areas of health and education and has shown the need for new reforms in these areas. Currently, there is a shortage of medical personnel, and grant funding is needed for training personnel in the regions. We must understand that the health and well-being of the nation is our future, on which the national development depends," Olga Bulavkina said.

The senator paid special attention to the work of medical professionals during the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, thanked them for their selfless work, and discussed vaccination issues.

The senator also got acquainted with how the housing problems of large families are being solved in the region. She highly appreciated the ongoing project "Single-Storey East". Based on the principle of public-private partnership, it allows improving the housing conditions of large families. The senator noted that today providing housing for large families is one of the priority tasks of the state.

The senator listened to the issues of concern to local agriculturists during a meeting with farmers. In particular, they raised issues related to changing the system of distribution of subsidies aimed at the development of agriculture.

Olga Bulavkina also met the members of Public Councils, the Council of Veterans, and ethnic and cultural associations. At these meetings, issues of the electivity of akims and the work of Public Councils, the regional Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Councils of Mothers and Aksakals were considered. In addition, the issues of equipping hospitals, integrating health information systems and handing over subsidized medicines were raised.

The deputy noted that all the issues raised by the residents of the region would form the basis of her legislative activity.
