Under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev, the House held a meeting where deputies adopted laws on biological safety of the country.
The instruments are aimed at building a coordinated system of state management in the field of biological safety, as well as the creation of a unified system of recording and monitoring data on the circulation of pathogenic biological agents. In addition, priorities and focuses of science in the field of biosafety were determined. These and other innovations are prescribed in the Laws "On biological safety of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of biological safety".
"The adopted laws were developed in execution of the assignment of the Head of State. Earlier in our country, there was no special law for the legal regulation of the sphere of biological security. We hope that the adopted Laws will create a legal basis for the state regulation in the area of biological safety and the system of detection, prevention and prophylaxis of biological threats. In addition, the laws should contribute to the development of fundamental and applied science in the field of biosafety, "- commented on the adoption of laws Maulen Ashimbayev.
In addition, during the meeting Senators voiced their deputy requests.
Yedil Mamytbekov criticized the updated procurement procedure of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, which, according to Senator, violates the principles of fair competition and equality of business entities.
Bekbolat Orynbekov raised the problem of increasing volumes of phosphorus waste in Zhambyl Region, which concerns the residents of the Region and may cause harm to human health.
