Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov met with the Chairman of the National Assembly's Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik.
During the talks the parties discussed the issues of further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, including the inter-parliamentary cooperation, in light of the agreements reached during the visit of the Head of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea in 2021.
The parties have noted progressive development of cooperation of our countries in trade, economic and investment fields, and also have designated importance of deepening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The interlocutor was informed about the essence of the constitutional reforms in Kazakhstan. "Today our country is at an important historical stage in its development. The modernization agenda of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is being implemented, which provides for all-encompassing transformations. One of the main directions is further democratization of the political system of the country", - said Askar Shakirov.
Won-shik said that Korea is closely watching the democratic reforms in Kazakhstan and fully welcomes them.
At the end of the meeting an agreement was reached on further cooperation in the field of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
