Delegates of the VII Congress of Religious Leaders laid the foundation of the "Park of Peace and Harmony" in the Capital city of Kazakhstan

15.09.2022 81

Today in the Capital the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the Secretariat of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Maulen Ashimbayev together with delegates laid the foundation of a new "Park of Peace and Harmony". Representatives of world religions planted 60 trees.

The new park has become a symbol of friendship and unity between the different confessions and nationalities of Kazakhstan, and is located along the Yesil River.

The main idea of the project is the monument "The Tree of Life". In the center of the monument in the form of a dome an oak tree is planted, which will be surrounded by a spiral and a stepped fountain - a water surface.

As conceived by the authors, water and the tree of life, which has its roots in the depths of centuries, embody the universal value of the very embodiment of life on Earth. The installation thus acts as a call for Harmony, Peace and Friendship among all people on the planet, regardless of their religion. The dome, in turn, symbolizes peace under one sky. It will have four entrance areas, representing the four sides of the world - South, North, West, East.

The walls of the dome will have images showing the creation of the World, historically significant events of Kazakhstan, as well as famous ancient rock engravings - petroglyphs. The spiral around the tree connects the sky (dome) and the Earth (water surface), thus conveying the idea of the subtlety and fragility of the world.

The park is scheduled for completion and commissioning in 2023.
