At the expanded session of Committee of the Senate on Social and Cultural Development and Science deputies discussed the bill concerning the further development of national cinematography, sphere of culture and holidays of Kazakhstan.
In order to stimulate domestic cinematography the draft law envisages the creation of the National Film Commission, attraction of foreign investors, representation of the film industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan on international film platforms and other events.
The purpose of the document is to create the necessary conditions for the implementation of state financial support, expanding the range of subjects of cinema activity, the promotion of national films in the international arena and defining new approaches to the allocation of funds for the production of national films: 70% - for historical, patriotic and image films, 30% - to co-finance private film projects, including the debut films.
In addition, the bill proposes changes to the Law "On holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan", which establish as a national holiday the Republic Day - October 25 and the public holiday - Independence Day - December 16.
As a result of the discussion the members of the Committee decided to send the bill for consideration at the meeting of the House.
