24.12.2022 92

The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev discussed with deputies of Almaty city Maslikhat the complex democratic reforms conducted in the country and resetting of political system of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Senate elaborated on the key principles of building a fair Kazakhstan, as well as noted the importance of working together in this direction at all levels of the representative government.

Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that the logical continuation of the constitutional reform initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is the upcoming elections to Parliament and Maslikhats, as well as the re-formatting of the Senate as a Chamber actually representing the interests of the regions of the country.

"The Parliament will work under new conditions and with new requirements and tasks. The Senate must become a body that truly represents the interests of the regions. It is obvious that the most important economic and social processes take place on the ground. Without an integrated development of the regions it will be impossible to bring the country's development to a new level, and hence to achieve the goals of building a fair Kazakhstan,"- said Maulen Ashimbayev.

The Senate Speaker emphasized that the Law on Agglomeration Development adopted by the senators during the week is also aimed at comprehensive development of the regions. Within its framework, a comprehensive plan, the implementation of the norms of which should have a positive impact on improving the system of settlement of citizens and distribution of productive resources, on the effective utilization of engineering, transport and social infrastructure, is adopted. In this regard, Maulen Ashimbayev stressed the importance of joining efforts of the Senate and Maslikhats to develop the largest agglomeration in the country.

"Particular attention will be paid to monitoring the implementation in the regions of the instructions of the Head of State, national projects, SMB support programs and other issues. I am convinced that close collaboration with Maslikhats is a key condition for the implementation of the important task of the Senate - the representation and protection of the interests of the regions," said Maulen Ashimbayev.

In addition, Maulen Ashimbayev met with the staff of the Center of social services "Alatau", in which people with disabilities receive a wide range of social and medical services.

The Senate Speaker emphasized that an important component of the social policy of the country is to improve the health of Kazakhstan people, to raise the quality and accessibility of health care. He noted that the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays priority attention to work in this regard.

The Senate Chairman spoke briefly about upcoming legislative work in health care and expressed gratitude to the Center's staff for their care of their wards and contribution to the development of the industry.

"On the instructions of the Head of State, measures are taken annually to increase the salaries of medical professionals. Since 2023, the salaries of doctors will be increased by 30%, and nurses - by 20%. In general, in the coming period, the funds allocated for health care will be increased continouosly. In 2027 their volume should achieve at least 5% of GDP. The status of the doctor will be legally secured. These and other measures will contribute to the protection and support of medical workers, increasing the prestige of the profession,"- said Maulen Ashimbayev.
