The Speaker of the Senate, Maulen Ashimbayev, held a meeting of the Bureau, at which the deputies approved the agenda for the next session of the House, scheduled for January 19, 2023.
In his speech, the Speaker of the Senate focused on the results of the elections of the Senate, which were held on Saturday. In this regard, Maulen Ashimbayev outlined the tasks to be considered, instructing to carry out appropriate preparatory work. In particular, after the election and registration of senators by the Central Election Commission in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Senate, the issues relating to the election of chairmen and members of standing committees of the Senate will be considered.
At the upcoming meeting, senators will have to consider a number of Laws adopted by the Mazhilis of the Parliament.
Laws "On Digital Assets in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and "On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Issues of Digital Assets, Informatization and Judicial Administration" are aimed at creating a legal framework for the development of activities on the issue and turnover of digital assets and digital mining in the country. The law will contribute to the formation of a legal market of digital assets, attracting foreign investment in this industry and the development of Kazakhstan's economy as a whole.
The purpose of the Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offences" is to bring the norms of the Code in line with the constitutional Law "On Prosecutor's Office", the Law "On Digital Assets in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and its accompanying laws. In addition, among the main objectives of the document: revising the competence of the authorized bodies in the control of labor legislation, imposing liability for violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of digital assets and others.
Laws "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan" "On Taxes and Other Obligatory Payments to the Budget" (Tax Code) and "On Enactment of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan" "On Taxes and Other Obligatory Payments to the Budget" (Tax Code)" is aimed at unshadowing turnover and further implementation by tax authorities of full monitoring and control of activities of digital miners and other digital asset market participants, as well as increasing revenues to the state budget.
In addition, members of the Bureau distributed among the Standing Committees of the Senate Laws received from the Mazhilis.
