As part of an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, members of the delegation of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan led by Maulen Ashimbayev met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov. During the meeting, the Speaker of the Senate outlined the interest of our country in further deepening comprehensive cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic. He noted that the active and trustful political dialogue at all levels contributes to this. First and foremost, between the leaders of the two countries.
In turn, Sadyr Japarov also emphasized the high level of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan at various platforms. In this regard, he noted the importance of maintaining and deepening cooperation, including through the Parliaments of the two countries.
In addition, Kazakh parliamentarians took part in the VII Kazakh-Kyrgyz Forum dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov. Among its participants were akyns, writers, historians, as well as researchers of Chingiz Aitmatov's work from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
In his speech during the Forum, Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized the special role of intellectuals of the two countries in the preservation and development of cultural and humanitarian relations between the brotherly peoples.
"The history of Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations has deep roots. We are fraternal peoples who have lived next to each other for centuries, with a common history and traditions. We have common culture, language and religion. In fact, for the Kazakhs, there is no nation closer than the Kyrgyz. And it is important to maintain and strengthen this kind of friendship and brotherhood. On the instructions of the Presidents of the two countries, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev and Sadyr Nurgozhaevich Japarov, effective measures are being taken to develop cooperation in the economic, social, cultural, humanitarian and other fields,"said Maulen Ashimbayev.
Maulen Ashimbayev noted that the work of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov is equally revered by the Kyrgyz and Kazakhs. The writer was awarded the title "People's Writer of Kazakhstan," streets are named after him, and large-scale cultural events and creative evenings are held in his honor.
"In the works of Chingiz Aitmatov, on which we grew up, we can trace the Kazakh motifs familiar to our hearts: the vastness of the steppe and the historical events of the time. Undoubtedly, such works as "The White Steamboat", "Zhanpida", "The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years", belonging to the great writer, are an invaluable treasure of humanity and were included in the golden fund of world literature. They promoted true human values. In addition, the personality and work of the writer is a spiritual bridge of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz friendship", - emphasized Maulen Ashimbayev.
The Speaker of the Senate also emphasized that the opinions and suggestions expressed during the forum will be taken into account and elaborated in the upcoming period. Expressing gratitude and appreciation to the Kyrgyz intellectuals for strengthening the relationship between our countries and peoples on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Chairman of the Senate awarded a number of Kyrgyz public figures of our country.
Kazakh parliamentarians also laid flowers at the monument to the great thinker and poet of Kazakhstan Abay Kunanbayev.
