The Law “On Public Control” is being discussed in the Senate

Deputies of the Senate Committee on Socio-Cultural Development and Science discussed laws relating to state regulation of the sphere of public control.

The Law “On Public Control” was developed to ensure the participation of citizens in the management of state affairs through public control. The document introduced the concept of object and subject of public control. The objects of public control are central and local government bodies, government agencies that are not government bodies, entities of the quasi-public sector, autonomous educational organizations, performers of the functions of central and local executive bodies, whose activities are related to public interests. The subjects of public control are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, non-profit organizations and other entities vested with the right or authority to exercise public control in accordance with the law.

In addition, the senators discussed the accompanying law “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of public control and improving administrative procedures.

According to the senators, the adoption of the Laws will help ensure the high-quality implementation of projects carried out within the framework of the national priorities of Kazakhstan, taking into account public opinion, transparency and openness of the activities of facilities.

Based on the results of the discussion, the Committee members decided to send the Laws for consideration at a meeting of the Chamber.
