A meeting of the Council for Inclusion on the topic «Issues of increasing childhood disability: early intervention, interdepartmental approach» was held today in the building of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Council Lyazzat Kaltaeva outlined the problem of the growing number of children with disabilities in our country.

«Our system covers children with disabilities after 3 years of age, missing the most favorable time for identifying children at risk and timely assistance to those in need. We have to make a comparative analysis of the situation developing in the world and in Kazakhstan. Understand the basic structure of the causes of childhood disability and how it is connected with the social level of the family of a special child», - said Lyazzat Kaltaeva.

The senators, together with the meeting participants, discussed the development of special children and timely intervention from the moment the problem is discovered, without waiting for the child to receive a disability group.

During the event, Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Nazgul Sagindikova spoke, who told members of the Council about the work carried out by the Ministry in this direction. Thus, she reported on an ongoing project called «Innovative factory of technical means of rehabilitation», which is aimed at providing children with disabilities with innovative technical means of rehabilitation and the creation of mini- and micro-rehabilitation centers.

The meeting was also attended by vice-ministers of health, education, culture and information, as well as experts and representatives of interested public associations.
