Senator Bibigul Zheksenbai took part in the international conference «Dialogue of Women in Central Asian Countries». The event was supported by the UN and was dedicated to the theme «Countering gender-based violence in the region: in search of effective and sustainable joint solutions».
During her speech, the senator noted that the country pays great attention to the protection of the rights and safety of women and children. Bibigul Zheksenbay also emphasized that work is underway at the legislative level to strengthen protection against all forms and manifestations of gender discrimination in all spheres of work, public and private life.
«At the C5+1 summit of the heads of state of Central Asia and the United States, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan has made significant progress in achieving gender equality and expanding women's rights. The President emphasized that the protection of gender equality and women's rights is a priority of the state and it will always pay special attention to ensuring the protection of women's rights and strengthening family values. Senators, for their part, are also systematically working in this direction», - the senator noted.
Let us recall that this year the chairman of the international conference «Dialogue of Women in Central Asian Countries» was Kazakhstan. After today's final conference, the chairmanship was transferred to the Kyrgyz Republic.
