The Senate held a meeting chaired by Maulen Ashimbayev, where the senators considered and adopted two laws – “On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement dated October 10, 2014, on accession of the Republic of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty dated May 29, 2014” and “On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Protocol on Conditions and Transitional Provisions on the Application by the Kyrgyz Republic of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty dated May 29, 2014, certain international treaties included in the law of the Eurasian Economic Union, and acts of the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union in connection with the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty dated May 29, 2014, dated May 8, 2015”.
All through the past week, senators were touring the regions of the country. They covered the capital, cities of republican status, and all regions. The primary goal of such traditional visits of senators was to meet with the population and discuss matters of concern to citizens. A total of more than 200 meetings were held by senators this time, at which they took the orders of their countrymen, spoke of the reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the results of the legislative work.

Chairs of the capital associations of property owners told Deputy of the Senate Akhylbek Kurishbayev about the improvement and development of infrastructure of courtyards in Nur-Sultan. Although they have been formed relatively recently, some of them have already made good progress in managing the house, maintenance, and improvement of the infrastructure of high-rise buildings.
Senator Kanatbek Safinov discussed the transfer of public functions into a competitive environment with entrepreneurs and members of the quasi-sector. The deputy emphasized that at the present stage of development, the state cannot and should not give up all of its functions, nevertheless, it is now important to extensively expand the scope of application of the principles of partnership. At the meeting, which took the form of a dialogue, the participants exchanged their views and discussed the prospects for the development of this issue.
Senator Vladimir Volkov paid a visit to the Talgar district of the Almaty region and met with the secretary of the regional maslikhat. They discussed the social and economic development of the district and some other issues.
Deputies of the Senate Mukhtar Dzhumagaziyev and Bauyrzhan Kaniyev visited the Temir district of the Aktobe region. The senators inspected the reconstruction of the “Kandyagash – Makat” road section. Road builders said that traffic will be launched here as early as this year.
Senator Ryskali Abdikerov discussed the basic principles and new methods of work of maslikhats with the elected deputies of the Zhanaarka District Maslikhat of the Karaganda region. The senator drew particular attention to this point of his visit to the region, not least because one of the vectors of the President’s modernization agenda is strengthening the role of local government institutions.
In the Inder district, Senator Gumar Dyussembayev checked out the results of the major overhaul of the water treatment plant built in 1972. During the inspection, he noted the urgency of providing residents with clean drinking water. The more so that for the Atyrau region this problem is still urgent. The senator has repeatedly expressed the need for its solution in his deputy inquiries to the leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.
A terrible fire in Ridder, East Kazakhstan Region, caused dozens of homes to completely burn out. Regrettably, the tragedy led to human casualties.
Bureau members of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the agenda of the House meeting to be held on May 13 of this year. Senators will review the bill “On Ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty of Accession of the Republic of Armenia to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014, signed on October 10, 2014”. The document was elaborated to implement the agreements on the extension of the transition period for the Republic of Armenia on the application of reduced customs duty rates until the full implementation of the Common Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union for one year.

Senators Zhenis Nurgaliyev and Sergei Karplyuk discusses the problems and prospects of development of the national automobile industry with the management of plants and enterprises of the sector. The meeting took place at the “AgromashHolding KZ” localization center in Kostanay.
Senate deputies Nariman Turegaliyev and Lyazzat Rysbekova visited the Kaztal and Zhanibek districts of the Western Kazakhstan region.
