Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Kazakhstan Mustafa Kapudzhu. The parties discussed issues of further strengthening cooperation and expanding the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Opening the meeting, Maulen Ashimbayev congratulated Mustafa Kapuja on a significant event – the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. He noted that Kazakhstan's cooperation with Turkey is based on common cultural and historical roots and is one of the most important directions of our country's foreign policy, and the trusting relationship between the Heads of Kazakhstan and Turkey gives impetus to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

"We are interested in expanding further cooperation with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and exchanging legislative experience. It is important to develop the potential of the interparliamentary friendship groups "Kazakhstan-Turkey" working in the Parliaments of both countries. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States makes a significant contribution to strengthening ties between the Turkic-speaking countries in the cultural, economic and humanitarian spheres. The deputies of the Senate actively participate in the work of the TurkPA commissions and other events held within its framework," the Speaker of the Senate said.

The parties also discussed the results of the X summit of the Organization of Turkic States, identifying key areas of joint work within the framework of cooperation between Turkic-speaking states.

"As the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev stressed during the X summit of the Organization of Turkic States, our country's chairmanship in the Organization is held under the motto "TURKTIME!". This concept reflects the priorities that will be given priority attention. Our common goal is to preserve and strengthen our unity based on mutual trust and common roots. We believe that the Astana summit helped to bring political, economic and cultural cooperation between our countries to a new qualitative level," said Maulen Ashimbayev and stressed that the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan will continue to provide the necessary assistance to further strengthen relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Senate briefed his colleague on the implementation of reforms in Kazakhstan in the socio-political and economic spheres initiated by the Head of State, and the legislative work of the Chamber.

In turn, Mustafa Kapudju highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of further expanding cooperation between the Turkic peoples.
