In his speech, the Head of State noted that for several days, meetings of representatives of different cultures and civilizations have been held in our capital.
– Despite differences in faith and traditions, we are all united by common aspirations and good intentions. A clear confirmation of this was the Final Declaration of the Congress, which reflected common ideas and proposals. In fact, this is the main essence of the forum. We have witnessed a constructive dialogue based on mutual respect. Most importantly, the spiritual leaders have demonstrated their readiness to unite their efforts for the sake of common interests, – he said.
According to the President, true wisdom is manifested precisely in the ability to conduct a constructive and meaningful dialogue.
– Today you are showing the whole world an example of foresight and prudence. In the context of growing geopolitical instability, this is of particular importance. The forum showed how important it is today to develop interaction between religions and cultures, to increase cooperation for a better future for all humanity. During the plenary and breakout sessions, the special session on the protection of religious sites and symbols, the expert round table, and the forum of young religious leaders, many valuable ideas and proposals were expressed. You have strongly condemned destructive ideologies and violence, considered the possibilities of resolving modern crises, discussed ways to overcome social inequality and build inclusive societies. Special attention was paid to the issues of ecology, sustainable development, and the impact of new technologies and artificial intelligence on people's lives. In my speech at the opening of the Congress, I noted the important role of spiritual diplomacy in strengthening dialogue and trust in the international arena. I am glad that you share this position, – stated the Head of State.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in an era of fundamental changes in the world, it is the religious leaders who must bring the light of moral guidelines and humanistic values to humanity.
– Over two days, you have come to a common understanding of the further agenda and key directions of the Congress's work, which were set out in the joint final Declaration. I call on all participants of the forum, including the Goodwill Ambassadors, to actively promote the ideas of this Declaration. I fully support your recommendations to the Secretariat of the Congress on the development of a document on the role of religious leaders in the fight against climate change, as well as universal principles for the responsible use of artificial intelligence from the standpoint of spirituality and humanism. I would especially like to note the session organized in partnership with the UN Alliance of Civilizations, – he said.
Further, the President pointed out the importance of protecting religious sites for the preservation of historical memory, cultural diversity, and the spiritual heritage of humanity.
– The holding of such an event in Kazakhstan speaks to the great importance of the Central Asian region in this matter. The Forum of Young Religious Leaders that took place demonstrated that the new generation strives to preserve continuity and continue the path of dialogue and mutual understanding. This means that the world has a future. The expert round table showed the importance of the synergy of scientific and religious knowledge for a greater understanding of the potential of spiritual diplomacy. I consider it necessary to strengthen this direction as an essential component of broad international cooperation. The Congress discussed the idea of a single, neutral, and non-politicized voice of religious leaders for peaceful coexistence. It can become a significant contribution to the formation of a new, more sustainable and just world order, – emphasized Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Head of State noted that Kazakhstan fully supports interreligious and intercultural dialogue at all levels and will actively contribute to the growth of the Congress's influence as a global dialogue platform.
– We will continue to expand the partner network of the Secretariat of the Congress with UN institutions and other structures. A number of events are planned with the participation of international partners, youth, experts, and volunteer organizations aimed at promoting the ideas of the Congress. Peace is our main wealth, a value equally significant for all countries, peoples, and religions. Truly, only peace and stability can serve as an unshakable guarantee of a bright future. You are making tireless efforts on this path. Our meeting today is convincing evidence of this. Summing up, we can say that the Congress was successful. I express my huge gratitude to all of you. I am convinced that our unity for the sake of high goals will continue to grow stronger, – the President concluded.
