Andrey Lukin noted the importance of joint work of the Parliaments of Central Asia to strengthen trust and sustainable development

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on international relations, defense and security, Andrey Lukin, took part online in the Second meeting of the heads of Parliaments of the member countries of the Group of Friends of Neutrality on the topic «Inter-parliamentary dialogue - an important tool for ensuring peace and trust in the world».

The event, organized by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, brought together parliamentarians and representatives of international organizations to discuss the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening trust, stability, and partnership at the regional and global levels.

«In the context of modern geopolitical challenges, the importance of inter-parliamentary interaction and dialogue is significantly increasing. Kazakhstan consistently adheres to a course of strengthening trust, supporting peace, and sustainable development», - the senator noted, expressing gratitude to the Turkmen side for organizing the meeting.

He also focused on the need to deepen regional cooperation, especially in the spheres of digitalization, ecology, and water and energy security, stressing that these areas are becoming key for the sustainable development of Central Asia.

«The Parliament of Kazakhstan is ready for joint steps to synchronize legislative approaches and implement initiatives aimed at sustainable growth, security, and strengthening trust between the countries of the region. Coordinated actions of the Parliaments create a solid foundation for the formation of a stable and predictable architecture of cooperation in Central Asia», - concluded Andrey Lukin.
