Deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by the chairman of the Committee on international relations, defense and security, Andrey Lukin, met with a delegation of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, headed by deputy Bogdan Borusewicz.
The parties discussed issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, strengthening of political dialogue, as well as the development of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Poland.
«Poland is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in the European Union, and parliamentary diplomacy plays a significant role in the development of cooperation between the countries. We highly value the constructive relations between our Parliaments. I am confident that the current meeting will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation», - emphasized Andrey Lukin.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to issues of historical memory. The Polish delegation is accompanying a group of veterans visiting the burial sites of Polish soldiers who died during the war on the territory of Kazakhstan. The Polish side expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for its support, as our country attaches special importance to the preservation of memorial sites.
Prospects for expanding cooperation in the economic, transport-logistics, and environmental spheres were also discussed.
«Today, over 140 Polish companies are successfully operating in Kazakhstan. We see significant potential for the growth of cooperation, including in the fields of transport, green energy, and investment», - noted Andrey Lukin.
In conclusion, the parties confirmed their interest in the further development of inter-parliamentary dialogue and the strengthening of a comprehensive partnership between Kazakhstan and Poland.
