Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kazakhstan Faisal bin Hanif Al Qahtani, during which the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation.
In his speech, Maulen Ashimbayev noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a close partner of Kazakhstan in the Middle East, with which comprehensive cooperation has been established. The basis for the development of relations between the two countries, as emphasized by the Chairman of the Chamber, creates a systemic political dialogue at the highest level.
A significant impetus to bilateral relations was given by the visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Jeddah last year, which resulted in the signing of 13 bilateral documents in the fields of tourism, sports, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and other industries.
Maulen Ashimbayev noted the special importance of deepening relations between the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Mejlis ash-Shura of the KSA, and also briefed the diplomat on the implementation of reforms carried out in the country at the initiative of the Head of State.
Separately, the Chairman of the Chamber focused the attention of the interlocutor on the activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and invited the religious leaders of the Kingdom to take part in the anniversary meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress, which will be held this autumn.
