Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev met with a delegation of deputies of the Parliament of Japan headed by the Chairman of the Parliamentary League of Friendship of Japan with Kazakhstan Toshiaki Endo. The parties discussed the prospects for further strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Welcoming the Japanese parliamentarians, Maulen Ashimbayev noted that Japan is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Chairman of the Senate stressed the need to strengthen interaction at the inter-parliamentary level, including within the framework of international organizations, praising the activities of the Parliamentary League of Friendship of Japan with Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed trade, economic and investment cooperation and expressed interest in implementing joint projects on decarbonization, digitalization, mining of rare metals, agriculture and logistics.
In addition, the Speaker of the Senate briefed his colleagues on the implementation of reforms carried out in the country at the initiative of the Head of State.
In addition, Maulen Ashimbaev focused the attention of parliamentarians on the activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for their support and active participation in the religious forum.
In turn, Toshiaki Endo noted the effectiveness of the ongoing political transformation in Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of comprehensive cooperation.
