Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbaev met with Chairman of the US Senate Committee on National Security and Government Affairs Gary Peters. The interlocutors discussed issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The Chairman of the Chamber emphasized the important role of effective interaction between the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the US Congress. Such a format of cooperation, as noted by Maulen Ashimbaev, contributes to the further development of Kazakh-American relations.
Maulen Ashimbayev also briefed the participants of the meeting with the work carried out by the Parliament on the legislative support of the reforms initiated by the Head of State.
For his part, the Chairman of the US Senate Committee highly appreciated the results of the comprehensive reforms carried out in Kazakhstan under the leadership of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Gary Peters focused on the importance of joint work in key areas and expressed his readiness to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations.
Furthermore, the parties discussed the interaction of deputies to address topical issues related to trade, security, sustainable development and energy.
