The Senate Speaker met with the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan

Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate, Head of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, met with Nauryzbai Kazhy Taganuly, Supreme Mufti and Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.

The issues of developing inter-religious dialogue and enhancing public consent in the country were discussed at the meeting.

Maulen Ashimbayev noted that Kazakhstan is actively promoting the ideas of inter-religious dialogue both at home and abroad. The Senate Speaker expressed confidence that the work of the Secretariat of the Congress in the forthcoming period will be focused on further strengthening of meaningful interaction between representatives of various religious associations.

The Senate Speaker underscored the essential role of ministers of church in supporting the citizenry during the expansion of the pandemic. In particular, he mentioned the proactive efforts of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in organizing charitable events and helping needy families in times of pandemic.

The parties noted the importance of fostering social harmony in the country and further efforts towards building effective coordination between people of different faiths.
