The Headquarters of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS States hosted online sessions of the Commission on Legal Issues with the attendance of Senator Vladimir Volkov, and the Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government where Senator Sultanbek Makezhanov took part.
Vladimir Volkov and his colleagues discusses the draft model laws “On Compensation of Damage to Victims of Crime”, “On Investment and Fiduciary Banking Operations”, “On Insurance”, “On Valuation Activities”, “On Contract Law (General Provisions)”. Parliamentarians of the CIS countries reviewed amendments and additions to the Regulation on the Permanent Commissions of the Interparliamentary Assembly.
Deputies exchanged their views on the outcomes of regular sessions of the Advisory Council under the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Legal Issues and adopted decisions on the proposals developed by the Council.
Sultanbek Makezhanov and members of the Commission on Practices of State-Building and Local Government were presented, inter alia, with the draft model laws “On Regional Investment Projects”, “On National Awards”, comparative legal analysis of the crisis management instruments, and the legal framework of the Concept of Sustainable and Safe Development for the CIS countries.
Participants put more focus on the implementation and proposals for the perspective plan of model lawmaking in the CIS for 2020 - 2022. The Commission members also discussed the performance in 2019 and projects for 2021, as well as the issues of preparing for the workshop “Dialogue between Citizens and Government”.
