The Senate discusses the issues of Kazakhstan’s cooperation with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan

During an extended session of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security, deputies discussed the bills that would promote cooperation between the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan and the armies of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Thus, Thus, two Agreements between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the provision of military-technical assistance to ensure security in the adjacent areas of the Tajik-Afghan border and on the provision of gratuitous military-technical assistance are proposed for ratification. The primary goal of the document is the enhancement of security in the area of the Tajik-Afghan border.  

According to another bill about the ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the provision of gratuitous military-technical assistance, by way of a one-time transfer of military property from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan is envisaged. This document is primarily aimed at promoting security in the Central Asian region.

At that, the parties to all the above-mentioned Agreements undertake to use the military property solely for the purposes of this Agreement and not to transfer it to a third party.

Following the extended session of the Committee, senators decided to submit these bills to the House for consideration.
