Senators approved amendments to the Tax Code

25.11.2021 435

Under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Senate, Maulen Ashimbayev, a meeting of the Chamber was held, where deputies considered a number of bills.

Senators adopted in two readings the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Taxes and Other Mandatory Payments to the Budget" (Tax Code) and the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Introduction of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Taxes and Other Mandatory Payments to the Budget" (Tax Code)" initiated by deputies earlier.

The main purpose of the Law is to support citizens and businesses. For this purpose, the document introduces a restriction on the acceptance of a single individual's housing as collateral. In addition, notifications of individual taxpayers about upcoming payments and tax arrears, including through mobile applications of banks and the NJSC Government for Citizens will become mandatory.

"The Law adopted today is aimed at implementing the initiatives of the Head of State, announced in the Message. The document provides for the rejection of the application of the minimum wage as a tax calculation indicator. In addition, the Law provides for provisions aimed at stimulating exporters to sell foreign exchange profits on the domestic market. In general, the Law contributes to the formation of a favorable business environment and investment climate, is aimed at supporting domestic producers, and also facilitates the payment of taxes and fees for individuals and entrepreneurs," Maulen Ashimbayev said.

During the meeting, the senators also ratified two Agreements on military assistance to neighboring states - the Laws "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of Kyrgyz Republic on the Provision of Gratuitous military-technical assistance" and "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the provision of gratuitous military-technical assistance".

The agreements provide for a one-time transfer of military equipment to Kyrgyz and Tajik parties, in particular ammunition and special equipment. During the meeting, it was noted that the transfer of military equipment to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will not affect the combat readiness and defense capability of Kazakhstan.

The senators also considered and adopted the Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the provision of military-technical assistance in ensuring security in the Adjacent areas of Tajik-Afghan border."

"The Agreements ratified today are aimed at strengthening the security system in Central Asia. We hope that these Laws will contribute to the further strengthening of friendly relations with neighboring countries and the development of cooperation in the field of defense," Maulen Ashimbayev said, commenting on the adoption of the Agreements.
