Ascar Shakirov, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the IPA CIS Council meeting, where he briefed the attendees on the results of the work of the Group of International Observers from the Assembly in the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held in September of this year.
It is worth noting that Askar Shakirov was the coordinator of the above group of 25 parliamentarians representing eight states of the Commonwealth.
Also, Askar Shakirov, in his capacity of Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Special Representative on the Sustainable Development Goals, joined the international conference Universal Health Coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals. At the conference, Askar Shakirov thanked the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the Office for Europe of the World Health Organization for hosting the meeting and noted the importance of effective cooperation, coordination of efforts to tackle challenging health issues and introduce innovative solutions.
Besides, deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Murat Baktiyaruly, Nurlan Kylyshbayev, and Talgat Musabayev participated in the meetings of the IPA CIS Permanent Commissions, where they had discussions with their colleagues on social policy and human rights, economy, and finance, as well as on political and international cooperation.
