16.05.2022 197

At the meeting of the Bureau of the Senate of the Parliament, the Chairman of the Chamber Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized the need to continue the information work on the promotion and discussion in the regions of the Constitutional reform and the upcoming Referendum on amendments to the Constitution.

"Senators should use all tools and platforms to meet with citizens in order to explain the essence of the proposed amendments to the Constitution. Last week deputies went to the regions and held a number of meetings. This work must continue. The amendments to the Basic Law affect every citizen of our country. Therefore, it is important to speak to people in simple and clear language about the reforms being implemented and the proposed amendments to the Constitution, and to hold meaningful and informative meetings without over-organization and formalism," said Maulen Ashimbayev.

Participants also approved the agenda of the House meeting, scheduled for May 19, 2022.

At the session of the House deputies plan to consider draft laws "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in prevention of illicit trafficking of nuclear and radioactive materials, radioactive waste, and radiation hazardous items" and "On ratification of the Protocol terminating the Agreement between the governments of the CIS countries on Principles of Tax Policy of March 13, 1992".

In addition, members of the Bureau distributed among the standing committees of the Senate bills previously approved by the Mazhilis for further work
