Maulen Ashimbayev: The VII Congress of Leaders of Religions is not only a religious event

In the interview to Tengrinews.kz News Agency the Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev talked about the main points of the President's Address to the people of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev focusing on the social and political reforms. Also the Chairman of the House spoke about the features of the upcoming VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.

The Speaker of the Senate noted that the message gives direction on how we can build a Fair Kazakhstan. Therefore, Maulen Ashimbayev believes that it should be considered as a strategic program document.

"In the message, we see steps to transform state policy. Kazakh families, children will receive additional assistance related to the use of the resources of the National Fund. We are talking about a more equitable distribution of national income. Or the fact that there is a plan to introduce a tax on luxury goods. This is also one of the important steps to ensure social justice. In addition, we are finding answers to many requests that have been raised in recent years,"- said Maulen Ashimbayev.

Responding to the journalist's question, Maulen Ashimbayev also spoke about the early presidential elections, elections to the Mazhilis and Maslikhats, noting that this is done to ensure the demonopolization of power. This important step is a continuation of political reforms aimed at building a balanced and competitive political system in the country, the Senate Speaker stressed.

At the same time, the Head of the Secretariat of the Congress spoke about the final stages of preparations for the upcoming Congress of Religious Leaders. According to Maulen Ashimbayev, despite the large number of delegations and guests from abroad, the organizers have the task to minimize any inconveniences for the citizens and guests of the Capital. In addition, free participation of citizens, pilgrims and tourists arriving in Kazakhstan to participate in the Pope's Mass is being ensured. In particular, special buses will be organized to transport the participants to the place where the Mass is being held, and a convenient registration system has been set up and is already in operation.

In addition to the Pope, the Congress will be attended by leaders and representatives of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Shintoism, and other world religions. The Congress will be attended by an outstanding spiritual leader of the Muslim world - the Supreme Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Chief Rabbis of Israel and other religious figures. However, according to the Head of the Congress Secretariat, this Forum should not be considered only as a religious event.

"Spiritual leaders together with representatives of international organizations, politicians will look for some joint ways, answers to challenges, problems faced by all countries of the world. Therefore, the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions - is a platform where the messages will be voiced, approaches to the promotion of interreligious, inter-civilization dialogue between countries and peoples will be discussed", - noted Maulen Ashimbayev.

Let's remind, that VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held in the Capital of Kazakhstan Nur-Sultan on September 14-15. This year more than 100 delegations from 50 countries of the world will take part in the Forum.
