Maulen Ashimbayev: The legacy of Akhmet Baitursynuly will always be especially honored in Kazakhstan

Mahulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of Senate of the Parliament, took part in actions devoted to 150th anniversary of the birth of Akhmet Baitursynuly on the instruction of Head of the State.

At the scientific conference " The Great Man Who Dedicated His Life to His Nation" the Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev read out a congratulatory letter on behalf of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"The personality of Ahmet Baitursynuly holds a special place in the history of our country. He led an outstanding activity during the most difficult period that fell to the lot of our people. In fact, Ahmet Baitursynuly's life path is a vivid example of serving his nation. The sacred duty of our people is to immortalize the names of Alash figures and continue their great work," the President said in his congratulatory address.

In his speech Maulen Ashimbayev dwelt on the merits, as well as the political and spiritual legacy of the outstanding Kazakh scholar, educator and historical figure Akhmet Baitursynuly.

The Senate Speaker underlined the particular importance of holding such an anniversary event in the sacred lands of Torgai. According to him, at the new historical stage, the Head of State pays special attention to the development of the region, specific instructions have been given in this direction and the Parliament is working in a systematic manner on their implementation.

"The Head of the State has set a task to build a New Fair Kazakhstan. Large-scale work is currently underway towards this objective. Comprehensive political, economic and social reforms are being implemented in the country. The main task is to strengthen the independence and improve the welfare of our people. For this, it is very important to develop both the country as a whole and all regions. I am sure that the initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan will give a new impulse to the development of Torgai", said the Chairman of the Senate, noting the important role of promoting the spiritual heritage of the natives of Torgai in the upbringing of the younger generation and the construction of a Fair Kazakhstan.

During the conference, speeches were also made by experts and public figures of the region. Among them honored worker of Kazakhstan Koishygara Salgarin, alashevist Garifolla Anes, researcher of Akhmet Baitursynuly's creativity Serikbay Ospanov and others.

The event also included the ceremony of awarding Akhmet Baitursynuly medal, the "Til zhanashyry" prize and the title "Honorary Citizen of Zhangeldy District"

 

A monument to the leaders of the "Alash" Movement Ahmet Baitursynuly and Mirzhakyp Dulatuly was unveiled in Torgai village of Kostanai Region. At solemn ceremony the Speaker of the Senate underlined that sacred ground of Torgai brought up many generations of outstanding personalities among which the companion of khan Abylay Shakshak Zhanibek, Amangeldy and Keiki, Ybyray Altynsarin, Ahmet Baitursynuly, Mirzhakyp Dulatuly who called people for enlightenment, unity and patriotism. According to Maulen Ashimbayev, the region has a special sacred significance for the country, and our people will always be remembering that.

The Senate Speaker also spoke about the work being done in Kazakhstan to promote the legacy of Ahmet Baitursynuly.

"Large-scale work is being done within the framework of the anniversary. Akhmet Baitursynuly's name is immortalized in the names of settlements, streets and objects. A mausoleum was erected in his small motherland. A memorial house was built. A 12-volume book of his works "The Teacher of the Nation" was published. Promotion and popularization of the heritage of Ahmet Baitursynuly will be continued in the coming period", - assured Maulen Ashimbaev.

On the same day there was a presentation of the literary memorial house of Ahmet Baitursynuly and Mirzakyp Dulatuly.

In addition, as part of the visit, the Chairman of the Senate talked with the volunteers involved in the elimination of the consequences of fires that occurred in the region
