Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan appointed by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Born on August 17, 1963 in Kyzylorda.
Graduated from the Kazakh State University named S.M. Kirov with a degree in Jurisprudence.
After graduation, he was admitted as an intern to the Kyzylorda Regional Bar Association.
From 1986 to 1993 he worked in the prosecutor's office of Kyzylorda region as a senior assistant to the prosecutor of Kyzylorda city, assistant, senior assistant to the prosecutor of the region and head of the department of the prosecutor's office of the region.
From 1993 to 1994, he held the positions of Senior Prosecutor of the Department of General Supervision, Head of the Department for Supervision of Compliance with Legislation on Banks, Financial and Credit Relations and Controlling Bodies of the Department of General Supervision of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From November 1994 to November 1996, he worked as a consultant, head of sector of the Department of ensuring legality, law and order and judicial reform of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 1996 became the first deputy head of Tax Police Administration in South Kazakhstan region.
From 1997 till 2001 he held the positions of Senior Assistant of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Deputy Head of the Department on supervision over legality in social and economic sphere, then Head of this Department, Head of the Department on supervision over legality in activity of state bodies of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From February 2001 to February 2002, he worked as First Deputy Prosecutor of the city of Almaty.
From February 2002 to June 2003.
From February 2002 to June 2003 - Prosecutor of Pavlodar region.
In June 2003, Mr. Asanov was appointed Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Asanov worked as Deputy Executive Director of the National Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers of Kazakhstan «Atameken» and member of the Board of Directors of JSC «Corporation «Ordabasy».
From 2007 to 2012 he was a deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of IV and V convocations on the party list of the Nur Otan NDP, was a member of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On September 6, 2012 by the Order of the Head of State he was appointed Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On April 25, 2016 by the Decree of the Head of State he was appointed Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By Resolution of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 273-VI SP dated December 11, 2017, he was elected Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the recommendation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was dismissed from this position due to expiration of 5-year term and transfer to another job.
On January 24, 2023, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan appointed as a deputy of the Senate of the Parliament, since January 26, 2023 - Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament.
Holds the class rank of State Counselor of Justice, 2nd class. Candidate of Legal Sciences. He was awarded with orders «Kurmet», «Parasat», jubilee medals «For the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan 10 years», «For the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan 25 years», breastplate «Honorary Worker of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan».Married, has three children.
